Sound & Telecommunications Association Australasia
The STAA is the National body supporting the following Australian telephony and related clubs. These include the Australian Historic Telephone Society Inc. (AHTS) and its WA branch (WAHTS), The Australasian Telephone Collectors Society Inc. (ATCS), The Antique Sound Society Group (ASSG) and the South Australian Telephone Collectors Society Inc. (SATCS).
Australian Historic Telephone Society, headquartered in Melbourne. The WAHTS is a branch of the AHTS .
Australasian Telephone Collectors Society. A Sydney based club, the ATCS now hosts the late Bob Estreich's site, "Bobs old phones" - a valuable resource for novice collectors.
Adelaide Central is the website of the South Australian Telephone Collectors Society Inc. (SATCS).
A UK site that is well worth visiting. Sam has included some detailed dismantle/assemble photo-essays on some early phones used in Australia.
An excellent UK site with a comprehensive Australian section and also a useful section on restoration techniques.
The Vintage Wireless and Gramophone Club of WA. The main interests are wireless receivers and gramophones/phonographs but many members are also interested in telephones, televisions and a range of other audio/visual artefacts. The club meets monthly in Ardross WA.
A Western Australian collector's website with an interesting history/technical section.
The Morsecodians were a group of enthusiasts that aimed to preserve and promote Morse telegraphy. The club has disbanded but their website is still active at this stage
